The ole “arm out the window of my cab” shot while headed down 7th Ave.

Drive-by shot of Chelsea Hotel via my speeding cab.

The view north from the West Village. The blue dots are midtown skyscrapers in the distance.

The only lights in the West Village last night were the taxi headlights. Spooky. This is Seventh Ave at Charles.

The view north from our apartment. The lights are from midtown skyscrapers with the blackout zone West Village in the foreground.

Charles Street last night at 11pm. The view is looking east. The tiny bit of light in the building windows is light from midtown reflecting off the glass.

Downtown still dark yesterday. But still standing.

Tuesday afternoon on Charles Street in the West Village. Leaves. Water. No power. Flooded basements. And 100 year old downed trees on every block.

Saturday’s storm as seen from out my window in the West Village. A few tornados touched down elsewhere in NYC.

A view of NJ from the West Village. Normally you’d see the sun setting just to the right. No Venus Transit sighting for us :(. Guess we’ll wait for the next one next century. Considering how poorly the Landmarks Commission protects the Village, by that time we’ll be able to watch it from the top of a slew of 90 story glass high rises. Each one with its own excuse, exception and precedent.
